Need 3 Dual Sport Riders for the Annual Hood To Coast run

I'm a member of the Rose City Motorcycle Club (RCMC) which has all types of bikes and riders, and every year the Hood To Coast (HTC) event uses 42 riders from the RCMC to cover 127 miles of road to help keep a presence IN THE NIGHT for the runners in the HTC relay. There is one small gravel section ...

Tawm...that sucks!!! :!: Sorry to hear that. Melody and I have ridden into Canuk land many times, and I've learned to treat those guards like they're the FBI + CIA on steriods. I just answer their questions and hopefully no one should get hurt! Some of them are just turds, and you don't even have to...

Tom (Dale and Danno), Have a great ride!! As you know, we did that last year and loved it (although you're going to different areas). I look forward to hearing how you liked the Cassiar Hwy 37, we couldn't ride that, and we hear it's excellent. When you hit the frost heaves on the way to TOK, stand ...

Sunday's ride

Sunday I met Danno, Dale, Gary A., and Rob in McMinnville for lunch before heading out for a ride to get rid of December's cobwebs. Heading West on roads new to me (as I'm from near Hillsburrito area), we headed into the foothills, where the dirt roads were perfect. A couple times we hit snow, saw b...

Scott, I ride a 2001 KLR...and although I have been riding for 36 yrs (street and dirt), I just got into dual sporting 3.5 yrs ago...and it's awesome! I luv the KLR --- for the type of riding I want to do. I describe it as a bike that is the "best at being average". To be sure, it ain't no...

I have a spec sheet on the bike..........it lists the same size tank of 6.1 galls, but it doesn't list the weight. If you'd like me to email you that spec sheet on the 2008 KLR, I'd be happy to. Is it possible to send me an email off-line (if you don't want your email addr displayed?). I see there's...

There's a guy from another web site (in Oregon) who just bought a 2008 KLR in California......here's what he said about the KLR: =========== I picked it up from LAMotorsports, via their out the door program. It just happened I had a truck going by their Oakland outlet, so just had the guys load it o...

Big changes? Probably not.....mostly cosmetic with new styling and fairing, with some mechanical (new rotors/discs, swingarm, forks, rear rack, intake porting, revised cam timing, transistorized ignition with revised mapping to replace the old CDI, higher capacity radiator, larger front/rear spokes,...

Any sightings of new `08 KLR at Dealers?

Anyone hear of a Kawi dealer who should be getting a 2008 KLR soon? Or do you think every dealer would get one for us to look at?

Mike, Congrats on the new DR! Tom's advice is good.......it's not recommended that you ride alone....as being up in the mountains on a remote USFS road if your bike craps-out or you accidentally fall, is not a good idea. IMO: it's analogous to scuba diving.......not advisable to do it alone. However...

Protecting our Stuff

Tom, Thanks for posting that link. I do many of the things they mention. I've been locking my bikes IN my garage for years....when I read that AMA recommended that. When I was riding in Millican and China Hat, I was the only one of 10 who would lock my bike every night. There's some more things I've...
