Dale,
If you want a killer trailbike that doubles for occasional, short pavement stints, the XR400 is probably the best, all-around choice. Get one. The DRZ is much more comfortable on lengthy pavement rides, but less capable on the trails.

Prospect 100 Dualsport Ride cancelled - bummer

Sorry to pass on this news, but got this from the event chair, George:

"Tom
Had to cancel the 100. Not enough entries, EMS & communication bailed out, it's going to be hot, and the dust is knee deep. Would you note this in your Black Dog Web.
Thanks
George"

Hey Vern,
You can show when you show - no prob. We can skip a part of the course for you. Unsure about Sunday's course, but from what it sounds like, I'd say it's hack friendly. Call Billy T. to be sure.

Well, if it's not already bad enough for my friends in Washington, now there's a few, rogue DMV employees doing the same thing in Oregon. Got any advice for us to fight this bogus situation before it gets worse here?
thanks,

Dale,
You just about can't go wrong with a Suzuki DRZ400, for an off-the-shelf dualsport bike. With all those trails you have back there, the other option is to get a dirt bike and install a Baja Design kit.

Free to Black Dog entrants!

AFTER the Black Dog, I received a bunch of catalogs and 50% off retail coupons from AXO ( http://www.axo.com/ ). The coupons are good for 60 days after the event. Looks like some good stuff and my guess is you can download their magazine-sized catalog (ahead of time) from their site to see what they...

JM,
Well, if we're able to use all the trail, you'll need to ride at a 'steady' pace. It will be seperate loops again, so you can miss a loop if you want, but you'll want to get out early. The 'A' course will basically be an enduro course - and you'll love it :!:

Hey, thanks for the head's up. I thought it was already taken care of, but guess it wasn't. Anyway, I called up, talked to Jack from Trask R. Park and told him we'd (Us and Lobos) be reserving the entire campground for the weekend of Sept. 10~11, so it's all in the books. I thought there may be a fi...
